The Supreme Court reconvened on Monday with a docket full of important civil rights cases. Alliance for Justice president Nan Aron appeared on Democracy Now! to lay out what’s at stake for issues like affirmative action, voting rights and same-sex marriage. Aron, who recently contributed toThe Nation‘s special issue on "The One-Percent Court," also weighed in on what a Romney presidency could mean for the highest court, saying "a Republican presidency could certainly … cement it well into a rightward-leaning direction for many, many years to come."
