Tim Shorrock
Tim Shorrock is a Washington-based journalist and writer who grew up in Japan and South Korea in a large missionary family. During the Vietnam War he was active in the peace and antiwar movements, and he writes and comments frequently about US military policies in Asia, the Korean peninsula, and US intelligence. He’s been writing for The Nation since 1983, when his first contribution was an article about the repercussions of a North Korean attack on a South Korean government delegation to Burma. Over the last two years, he has reported extensively for The Nation about North Korea, the Trump administration and the evolving inter-Korean peace process. In 2017, he was the only American journalist to interview South Korean President Moon Jae-in during his presidential campaign. He is well-known in Korea for his revelations about the background US role in suppressing the 1980 Gwangju uprising against military rule, and in 2015 he was made an honorary citizen of Gwangju for his contributions to the South Korean democratic movement. Shorrock is also the author of Spies for Hire: The Secret World of Intelligence Outsourcing. He visits Korea several times a year.

Teresa Stack
The Nation’s president from 1998 to 2016, with responsibility for the day to day operations of the magazine, Teresa is a founder of The Nation’s educational travel program. Developed to raise money in support of our journalism, she worked to expand the program from an annual seminar cruise (now in its 20th year) to include trips to a growing list of worldwide destinations, hosting thousands of Nation supporters on memorable journeys curated for progressive travelers. Teresa has personally hosted multiple Nation educational trips to Cuba and led our inaugural trip to Russia in 2016.

Peter Kornbluh
Peter Kornbluh, a longtime Nation contributor, serves as the director of the Cuba Documentation Project at the National Security Archive, a non-profit declassified documentation research center in Washington D.C. He is the author of several books on Cuba including Back Channel to Cuba: The Hidden History of Negotiations Between Washington and Havana (with William M. LeoGrande) and Bay of Pigs Declassified.
