Press RoomAfter an eighteen-week labor standoff, the National Football League players’ union has unanimously voted to approve an agreement that promotes player health and safety. This is a significant labor victory, as many football players face serious health repercussions from professional play—six out of ten players will suffer a concussion during their careers and football players die an average of twenty years earlier than the rest of the population.
Nation sports correspondent Dave Zirin joins Amy Goodman on Democracy Now! to discuss the standoff, the resolution and his documentary on the unspoken stories of sports, Not Just A Game.
