Gingrich’s Fear: An Atheist Islamist Takeover

Newt finds a new worry: that atheist Islamists might seize control right here at home.

Newt Gingrich is, of course, off his rocker. But this quote, from a piece in the Washington Post today about how Republican candidates are courting evangelical voters, is truly outstanding. Said Gingrich, in March:

“I have two grandchildren—Maggie is 11, Robert is 9. I am convinced that if we do not decisively win the struggle over the nature of America, by the time they’re my age they will be in a secular atheist country, potentially one dominated by radical Islamists and with no understanding of what it once meant to be an American.”

So. A “secular atheist” United States “dominated by radical Islamists.” Yes, I’ve been worried about those atheist Islamists, too. The worst kind.
