After the attack that killed Beylin Sarmiento, Ismael wrote down the events of that day as he recalled them. The following is an excerpt from that testimony.

…this train stopped again at a track-change to let another train pass and when I saw the other train I started recording again my head and my phone poking out above the train and I was able to see that right there the ladder on the engine there were two federal policemen dressed in black with balaclavas and gloves on their hands and each one with a firearm in his hand who saw us and started to shoot without saying anything they shot more than twelve shots we hid ourselves and heard from the gondola behind us someone was screaming and after the gunfire ended we saw the dead body of the boy we met that morning and the man we met later that day who was shot in his left calf but it wasn’t too bad the other one did die with 3 gunshots one right in his heart and the other in the abdomen and the other in the leg.

…este tren bolbio a parar an un cambio de vias para que otro tren pasara y yo al ver que otro tren pasaba me puse a grabar nuevamente asomando unicamente la cabeza y mi celular fuera del tren y alcance a ber que junto a las escaleras de las maquinas benian 2 federales de tren vestidos de negros con gorros pasamontañas y guantes en sus manos y una arme de fuego cada uno en sus manos quienes al vernos empezaron a disparar sin mediar palabras hicieron mas de 12 disparos nosotros nos escondimos y escuchamos que en las gondolas de atrás alguien grito y después de aver pasado la balacera cimos el cuerpo sin vida del muchacho que abiamos conocido en la mañana y el que conocimos al mediodia con un disparo en la pantoria izquierda pero no era muy grave el otro si murio con 3 impactos de vala uno al altura del corazon y el otro en el agdome y el otro en la pierna.
