In a democracy, people elect leaders who represent their views. In America, corporations and the mass media have the biggest influence on government. Nation Washington correspondent John Nichols and University of Illinois professor Robert McChesney write about the corrosive influence of money in politics in their new book, Dollarocracy: How the Money and Media Election Complex is Destroying America. On Wednesday, they joined Bill Moyers to discuss how our so-called “Dollarocracy” stood center stage during this week’s elections. —Steven Hsieh
