The victories of Tammy Baldwin and Sherrod Brown show that standing up for workers’ rights pays off.
Press Room
Last night, Democrats Sherrod Brown of Ohio and Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin won Senate elections in two states that encountered high-profile labor disputes these past two years. John Nichols reported on election night from Toledo, Ohio, for MSNBC. Concerning Brown and Baldwin, Nichols said, “These are two people who went to the mat to stick with labor, and labor has stuck with them.” Ohio voters also struck down a measure that would strip away collective bargaining rights in the state.
