As some still trivialize, criticize or attack the Occupy movement for lacking specific demands, one very specific and concrete proposal has caught on like wildfire in Occupy encampments across the nation, and that is to introduce an amendment to the Constitution that would end corporate personhood. Why is ending corporate personhood a focus of the movement? What action should be taken to achieve this goal?

The Nation‘s editor and publisher Katrina vanden Heuvel and Jay Harris of the "We the People" project joined Thom Hartmann on The Big Picture to talk about the influence of corporations on current US politics. They argue that ending corporate personhood will help free the government from corporate grip by moving election financing from corporate contributions towards small donations and public funding.
