Did the press do a fair job on covering Obama’s tax deal compromise? What does the tax deal really mean for America?

The Nation‘s Editor and Publisher Katrina vanden Heuvel appeared on a roundtable on CNN’s Reliable Sources with Politics Daily‘s Alex Wagner and The National Review‘s Ramesh Ponnuru to debate the real story behind the tax deal and the implications the deal will have for Americans over the coming months. Vanden Heuvel argues that reporters need to ask who the deal really benefits, given that tax cuts for the rich have now been extended for two years, but unemployment benefits will only last 13 months. And with all the concessions he won for Republicans and the super-rich in the tax deal, why is incoming Speaker of the House John Boehner still crying?
