On Democracy Now! this morning Maria Margaronis, London correspondent for The Nation, reported on the deep depression in Greece, its looming healthcare crisis and the difficult choices Greek politicians will have to make in the near future. In Athens, she said, the sense is that “everything is breaking down.” With a recently passed austerity measure that reduces the minimum wage by 22 percent and will take away 150,000 public sector jobs by 2015, the situation is likely to get worse before it gets better.
