Glenn Harris, the Race and Social Justice Initiative Manager for the City of Seattle, says the initiative’s outreach includes “change teams” in every municipal department and data gathering to find out how comfortable people feel talking about race and how affected they are by racial injustice. The goals of the initiative are personal: “The question ultimately for us,” he says, “is, are folks feeling it in their daily lives?”
