On November 5, New Yorkers will go to the polls to elect their next mayor and, for the first time since he was elected in 2001, Michael Bloomberg’s name will not be on the ballot. In preparation for the upcoming election, eight of Bloomberg’s potential successors—Sal Albanese, Christine Quinn, John Liu, Anthony Gronowicz, Randy Credico, Bill Thompson, Cecilia Berkowitz and Anthony Weiner—gathered at the Schomburg Center on June 19 for a forum, co-sponsored by The Nation, to speak about policing and criminal justice.
