Press RoomNearly two thousand US State Embassy cables concerning Haiti published by WikiLeaks show how the US has worked to micromanage Haiti’s economy and its political and electoral process. Mark Weisbrot of the Center for Economic Policy & Research says the cables show that the US government has gone to great lengths to influence the outcome of Haiti’s elections. AJE correspondent Imram Garda concludes Haiti’s president Michel Martelly must now decide whether to serve the interests of his people or the interests of "powerful neighbors."
