Words of Wisdom

Check out the second episode of the Brave Nation video series featuring legendary union organizer Dolores Huerta and renown musician and activist Bonnie Raitt. Here's a brief video excerpt in which Raitt talks about her early political influences.

A kind of "living history" project composed of short videotaped conversations, This Brave Nation brings together the most intelligent, passionate and creative voices of our time to dialogue on loves, lives, politics and history. Each discussion has been produced as both a five-minute video and a thirty-minute mini-documentary, which is being collected in a DVD box set. A new video is being released each Sunday over the next few weeks leading up to a live event in Los Angeles on July 13.

I also recently blogged about three of the youth activists nominated for the first annual Brave Nation Award, designed to recognize and celebrate the coming generation of progressive activists. Help us find them. The submission form is here. The only real rule is that nominees need to be thirty years old or younger. The deadline is June 22. Watch and share this video for info on the award.
